There is a gauge (I don't remember where to get it) for measuring the placement of the routing, account and check numbers on the check. The software I worked on had adjustments for each printer. Although we pushed HP, placement on identical printers was different. Banks are very picky about the placement of the micr line items.

>I'm not sure what you mean by "The characters not used by digits will carry all the other symbols". It sounds like I need to create 3 controls on the report; routing, bank and check number using a "numeric MICR font". Between these controls do I create blank controls using the appropiate "special character MICR font". Does that sound about right?

>>>I have a client who is purchasing an IBM InfoPrint 1145 MICR printer. They would like to have the MICR printer print the routing, account and check numbers on the bottom of the check. Is this as simple as getting a set of barcode fonts and adding the appropiate bank numbers to the frx and changing the font? Are there special barcode fonts needed to print bank routing information? There are special characters that separate the numbers. How are these added?
