I have heard that FPW 2.6 SPR forms compiled to VFP 8 have problems rendering button controls. I developed some modules last year for a SW company. They were considering using VFP 8, but ran into problems with the SPR buttons - so I delivered the project in 7.

I don't have first hand knowledge. Never seen it. But your issue seemed similar.
