I have figured it out! I have discovered if I press "escape" it closes the form if I have previously saved it.

Now VFP 6.0 would not close with the escape key, so I see this as a step forward now that I have figured this out. The closure is intelligent. I press "escape" without previously saving, it says "Discard Changes Yes/No?". This forces you back to File | Save, then the "escape" key lets you out directly.

I did find out another way. VFP 8.0 allows you to bring the Command Window up front, even when a Form is open. I found that "Close All" would get rid of the Form. But this is an awkward workaround.

I have no idea why "File | Close" is disabled in my version, but now that I have discovered the "escape" option, I am OK.

I still have to figure out how to turn off Intellisense which is slowly driving me nuts. Then I will be out of the woods.

Do you remember when we communicated earlier about the SetUp Wizard? The Microsoft Tech people were telling me that there is enough horsepower in the Setup Wizard with VFP 8.0 that I won't feel pressured to buy the 3rd party package. The problems with modifying a previous Setup have apparently been solved.
