>If in fact gasoline prices are subsidized by the state, that money is coming from somewhere, right? It's not as if that money the Chinese government is spending to subsidize gas prices isn't being pulled from somewhere else in the Chinese economy.

Hi guys,
I would like to give you some stuff
In Europe 1 liter gasoline cost 0.80euro(almost $1)
In USA for that sum you can get 1 gallon = 3,5 litters
In Europe is subsidized public transport
In North America - private transport
Comes time to stop with subsidizes

But it is true that China start to develop private transport, which rise demand of gasoline, but world production is the same which rised its price
