Ransome,
If you want to develop web applications using VFP, try out VFP mtdlls. With this technology you can either return HTML to a browser(take a look at http://www.activevfp.com/avfpdemo2/default.aspx) or run it as a vfp web service and continue as a desktop app. You can run MSDE in a distributed manner, keeping the database where it is as long as it has an accessible IP address. The web server could still be at an ISP.
Otherwise, if you just want to make the existing vfp application available over the internet, take a look at MS Terminal Server or Citrix...
