Booting from a CD should be supported on most or all newer systems. To boot from a CD, press the key that gets you into the BIOS setup - on the machines I have seen, this is usually DEL, but it can be some other key, depending on the motherboard.

Somewhere in the BIOS setup you should be able to select boot options. Again, this might depend on the motherboard.

I have also seen the option to switch to another boot device, by pressing F8 during the hardware startup. This is a one-time only change, and doesn't affect later startups. I have only seen this option recently, and I am not sure whether it is only for one specific motherboard, or what.

About booting from MS-DOS, I thing that, at least in Windows 98 or later, everything you need should be on the installation CD.

I don't know the answers to your other questions.

>I installed windows 2000 Pro on a Windows 95 system. Now I am trying to add another OS, Windows 95 or windows 98, to have a dual boot system. The system is not booting from CD-Rom. How can I have my system boot from CD-Rom to make dual boot installations? IF I need to boot from MS-DOS, what version would it be and how can I install Windows 98/95 from MS-DOS.

Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
