on 2k we recommend 64 per user for one of our systems and that uses more memory and more tables that you have so i would go with 32 per user and leave open the possibility of going to 64 per user, that way you don't have to spend money on memory that you don't need.only thing is 10 users x 32mb = 320 mb, might as well get one 512mb chip and settle for that and cover your bases.

>For a Server 2003 system running 10 simultaneous Terminal Services stations, how much memory should be installed ? Each station runs a VFP8 application (the EXE is about 6 MB) with large data files (about 50 files open simultaneously, and some as large as 20-30 MB each).

>I was assuming Server 2003 needs about 512MB itself, and each station requiring a min of 256M (according to VFP8 runtime requirements), we would need to install 512M + 2,560 M = 3 Gigs minimum memory.

>However, a Colleague argues that based on Memroy usage (he got from the Performance Tab of the Device Manager), it showed only 18MB was being used by each instance of VFP application, so he says, we don't need anywhere near what I am suggesting. The budget is tight, and he is trying to cut corners.

>However, with only 1 Gig memory currently installed, every once in a while, one of the stations goes into a long "VFP Application NOT Responding". I argue that this maybe because the system is caching to disk, and thus causing the stations to hang up, but my colleague thinks there is another problem with the VFP Application or maybe a bug in VFP8.
