>I can't figure out why you would change your name to D.R. Fairday. Look what happened to Arnold Swartzenegger when he refused to change his name.

I've had enough fun listening to Americans trying to pronounce my last name and usually breaking a tongue or a leg over the "lj" ligature, and putting the accent on the third instead of the second syllable.

D.R. Fairday is a pen name I was using during Milosevic times (namely, during the bombing), when I was a translator for www.freeserbia.org, and when I wrote a few articles as well. It's, in a way, a liberal translation of my last name, via Hungarian.

>Now the next question I have to ask you is a long way from "Closing a File in VFP 8.0" but did you do the code for the short tour of "What is Lulu".

No, that's where I'm just a humble member. From the looks of it, it could have been done in anything, including WestWind (but we'd have heard of that, right?). The forum is a standard BBPhp

>I am trying to learn how to do splash screens. I have a trial version of Macromedia Dreamweaver and Macromedia Flash but I haven't really taken it out of the box. If you were involved with "What is Lulu" could you tell me what language it was written in.

Web splash screens or in VFP? For VFP, start with the sample supplied with Fox, and copy it away from its source, and start playing with it.

The "copy away" is an important thing if you're using VFP's FFC (foundation classes). In any project, the paths to the files are stored relative to the .pjx file - and they'll work fine as long as their directory structure is maintained. The one thing that's impossible to maintain is the location of VFP itself, and the FFC are, well, below home(). So better copy them out to where they'll be used, or else you'll have trouble as soon as you move to a different machine, or reinstall, or - you can see where I'm going with this.

>As a side point, I always thought programmers would be incapable of creative writing because their brains were so procedural.

I had a surgical intervention in mid-90s, when my procedural brain was bartered for an OOP one. Scars invisible.

> You should thank your Mother and Dad who appear to have given to a brain that works on both sides. I think this is quite rare. Then again I have never seen what your programming code looks like :).

Check the downloads :).
