Chris,

All folders are read-only in XP (and Win2k3) and cannot be changed.
See: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=326549 for more information.

I saw this access problem when I set up my FTP site for client access, but can't recall exactly what the problem was. I remember tearing my hair out for a couple hours until I stumbled on the answer. I think it might have something to do with something like permissions in IIS rather than permissions in the file system. I'll poke around some more and let you know if I can recall the solution.

>Strange, I have those accounts setup for access from both the Active Directory domain and the machine but no go. I just noticed that the directory is flagged as read only. I remove the read only attribute in properties and apply but if I go back, the attribute change dosn't stick. I even deleted the directory and recreated the folder. I can, however, create folders and files within using Windows Explorer.
