I'm trying to use a dropdown listbox to display a list of valid countries. The country list is in alphabetical order. The problem with this is that "United States" sorts near the bottom of the list. If the user types "UNITED" they move to United Arab Emirates not United States.

Is there a way to get "United States" at the top of the list (just after a blank country to allow them to leave the field blank) but still allow them to do an incremental search on the list? In other words my list would look something like this:


United States
Albania
Angola
...
Zimbabwe

Typing 'A' would take me to Albania, 'Z' to Zimbabwe and yet United States appears at the top of the list. Is this possible?
