Most FTP clients should have this capability - if the FTP server provides this option, too. I have been using WS_FTP, and it works quite well - however, so far, I have only used it for downloads.
Note that much freeware, and especially Internet-related freeware, is also spyware; see
http://grc.com/downloaders.htm for an explanation. AdAware will help you detect this problematic software.
I don't think that WS_FTP is spyware, but better check to make sure.
