Now I feel really terrible:). Much of my background was brokerage services. Sensitive developers were quickly filtered out. To the suits, results were more important than self esteem. No excuses - nobody to blame - just deliver the "$%^#*( solution", or go back to waiting tables!
For me that meant a lot of after hours work on the home computer just to keep up.
So, the thread, and the lingering followups may have confused me. There were good ideas on the "bug" side - and there were good ideas on the "feature" advocates.
If I were a Fox Team Engineer with final edit control on the "Open File" dialog issue, how would I decide. I think the delivered decision was the best that could be offered.
I guess it was the title that raised my brow:" ...VFP elite"
Is that like a special commando unit of VFP developers that come into a project for a quick sweep and clean?:) Do they wear berets?:) Do "chicks" dig their uniforms?
How can I be the bugle-boy for VFPs elite company B?

>One thing about the original post was that it complained (in the thread referenced) about one person recommending "Code Complete".

>When someone posts here, naturally, the given intent is respond to the question or problem. However, there's more at work here. Each post becomes part of the "UT Record" and may be read by persons other than the one the post was directed towards. It, I believe, is an important fact to keep in mind.

>In this instance, someone else did benefit from the recommendation, and publicly thanked the person who posted it. This is bad?
Imagination is more important than knowledge
