Another possibility that just occurs to me is that the report fields use an alias: tablename.fieldname, and that the table or cursor is opened with another alias.
>i have removed the print when conditions from all the effected fields, about 10. i have also removed any reference to any other table on the report and double checked the data environment to make sure that it is empty, which it is. the error has now moved to another field. the report seems to think that all fields are variables. i have also output the select into a dbf as well as a cursor.

>>>i am still getting "variable prt_tints not found". i have selected the correct table and browsed it also to make sure and it is open.
