John,

I've purposely stayed clear of the thread, I learned my lesson of the futilty of threads like that with old Fabian *g*, And other than launching VB, I was totally turned off by the VB4 windows everywhere interface, about 3 times I've not used it.

Of the couple of cognizant messages mixed in with the garbage I'd be curious to find out

1) if the inheritance tree can be more than class-subclass deep?

2) What kind of code, where, does the delegation up the inheritance tree?

3) It was one thing for the original C++ preprocessors that converted C++ code into C code for compiling to do the translation, but it's a whole different can of worms to make a programmer do that, or to write the equivalent VB++ preprocessor. Does it involve unmaintainable copy/paste programming?

It's been my experience in the last couple of months, having a pretty competent Access/VB database developer here helping me work on a VFP app say a lot of "wow I wish I could do that in Access"

>"Although VB is not an object oriented language - you can do object oriented programming in VB and implement encapsulation, inheritance and polymorphism." Phil says Yes - John says No.
