1. I like the moniker 'mapimess' - I almost lost my coffee moments ago - ya ya - i KNOW its the name of an object - but .
2. USUALLY a send/receive on oe instantiation occurs because oe is configured that way. Do you get the same behavior when you change that setting in OE ?
3. Not to suggest you change your toolset - but have you looked at Nigel's Stuff over at www.nbcsoftware.com ?
4. IF Just for send - and going out via oe - are you hitting a pop3 or smtp email server at the end ? IF SO - why not use blat and the corresponding dll version of it ? works rather well, directly with vfp, and bypasses OE completely. Not much configuration required per client, and you can automate that in vfp as well.
