>>Lately I'm getting annoyed by the attitude of some well established VFP developers up here, esspecially with the enourmous increase of BUG reports of the hand of Fabio Lunardon.

>I think that reporting of bugs (regardless of how insignificant we think they are) on this forum is very important and does VFP more good than bad, because it helps us to stear clear of these bugs and make more robust applications. I think this is more important than perceived bad publicity, because most people on this forum know that VFP is not a buggy product.

"Buggy" can't be a .t. or .f. - because perfection is impossible to achieve, at least for software. What matters is that VFP is very stable and powerful, and given its size and complexity (just count the number of commands, combined with number of clauses they can have, number of functions, and number of classes and their PEMs) I can say it's at least less buggy than Windows themselves. The bugs we find (and those that Fabio finds) are found when we push the envelope, which is great to know. Being developers, we are inclined to try weird things, using all the possibilities of our tool(s), and knowing how far can we go can save us a lot of time.

I've been down that road many times before, spending hours to find out that something I'm trying to do is hitting against a bug I didn't know of. Nowadays, I know almost right away what's going on, and (being a PUTM for a number of years) I can quickly find it here, if I don't know. I think it's a great thing.

So yes, Fabio gets his hand slapped here and there, because the advice he gets are those given to beginners (which is great for the real beginners who read those threads - they get a way to avoid those problems he finds) and some may still perceive him as a beginner. I know I did first two months of his presence here. But now he's definitely not, and I'm sure a brave explorer of his caliber will not be discouraged.
