Ok, so you answered my first questions, but how about the last one:
Would you disagree with me that having a consciousness, though we haven't been able to explain what it is, is what makes our live's the unique and (hopefully often) pleasurable experience that it is?
I ask this because I've recently come to understand that whether or not we really know ourselves and the nature we exist in isn't as important as just making something up that is good enough for us to derive the strength the courage to live the life we have chose to live.
If you believe in the experience of consciousness or free will, despite there being no defintion or test that can prove that these things exist, then why not the experience of unity with nature, or perhaps even that which has created nature?
Not that I wish to criticize you for questioning Cladio's belief in a soul, but I merely wanted to point out that unless you are intimately familiar with his experiences which have lead him to those beliefs (and you are not), then you are more or less viewing the same world from the same position he is.
I don't see any evidence that a consciousness or a soul exists as any objective notion, but if you or Cladiuo decide that these things are important in your lives then thats cool with me.
