ISE has some weird behaviors. Just last week I was running some test installs on an XP dev system. After the install, VFP 8 would not open a form with an OCX "Slider" unless the system was restarted.

ISE projects have also failed to make it to the "Uninstall" list (Add/Remove Software). Somes installs end up with the "Setup" icon rather than the project icon. This means that uninstall will not remove the project shortcut from the program menu.

In some cases, the install did not even show in the Add/Remove List. I had to chase down registry entries just so I could test the "rebuild".

I was thinking about upgrading to the full package. I don't bill for my time to "build" the "setup". It has cost me a lot of time. I can install on 4 XP boxes in my shop without a hitch - only to deliver at the clients and get embarressed (on some XPs) - and have to schedule another trip out.

Sometimes I entertain the thought that InstallShield may be one of those products we purchase to pay for the privledge of reporting bugs. ISE is not predictable and eats a lot of time (for me)!.

the old "Setup" service never did this!:-)
