Paul,

Can you explain, I've been using round brackets with arrays since
FoxPro 2.0 without a single problem. And our functions have been
running on Visual FoxPro since November last year without problems
either.

The convention, then, was round brackets and Fox Software and
subsequently Microsoft, have been very good in being consistent
and still support it.

More to the point, if you look at the VFP 5.0a Help, Microsoft
uses round brackets absolutely everywhere that they mention
arrays, starting with the DIMENSION/DECLARE commands (Examples
section).

So, aside from your own conventions, what bug are
you exactly referring to ?

Michel.

And please don't use round parentheses with arrays. Although VFP accepts it, this is confusing for
the reader and sometimes for VFP also. I don't wish to anybody to look for such a bug... cause it's
one of the nastiest bugs in VFP.
