At design time I add a temporary sentence myDataSet.WriteXmlSchema(@"c:\temp\ myDataSet.xsd");
Add a brand new myDataSet into my project and replace its xml code with the code from the first file. I don’t know why, but if you add the existing dataset into the project, it’s still not available for a report. A brand new dataset and its fields become available for a report. After that I remove the dataset from the project and comment out the temporary sentence.
