>Thank you for this very useful and detailed reply. I suppose I need to ask another fairly simple question: coming from the VFP world, is it easier to become productive in .Net using VB or C# ? I have the luxury(?) of choosing which .Net language to use. All of my little test projects have so far been in VB.Net.

>SimonOne reason I prefer C# is that it is different enough from VFP syntax so I don't get confused when jumping between the two. VB.Net is a little too similar and (another reason) is that I've done plenty of ASP with VBS and I hate VBS. Just having to add Then for every If (and I always forget) irks me.
Seriously, it does not matter which language you use as they both end up compiling to the same CLR. As many others would tell you, the importance and the learning curve, is in the Framework. The rest is just learning the syntax. NBD.
