Sounds like a job for MSMQ (MS Message Queue) ... we use it in part of our application, but I was not the one who wrote that part of the app, so I don't know any of the specifics. I'll give a holler to Morgan, my co-worker who wrote it, and see if he has time to jump in here with a reply to point you in the right direction (it may take him a few days ... he's busy moving this weekend).
