My wife worked at the local county hospital and told me about the many illegals that were cared for free of charge. One reason hospital costs are so high is the paying patients have to make up the difference for those that get free care.

One normal way to obtain free medical care in California is to go to the emergency room of a hospital. You might have a cold, flu or something serious. No need to pay if you are illegal. In fact the hospitals will not report you to the authorities. The Social Worker will take care of the paperwork.

A case I remember was an illegal who lived in North Hollywood, flew up to San Jose once a month to see the doctor (Dermatologist in this case), to receive free treatment. I could go on but I think we both know there is something wrong with the "system".

For those of us with medical insurance who need immediate medical care you have to fill out medical forms, show your insurance card and wait! I am speaking of my experience in this case. After I filled out the forms the doctor told me I was going to die. He did not know what he was talking about.

This incident was due to a car accident and all four members of my family were in the hospital. The person who rear ended us was an illegal alien - from Japan. They drive on the other side of the road so that might have been part of the problem. He had no insurance so I had to sue my own insurance company for my uninsured motorist coverage. What a way to find out about insurance coverage! Not everyone has uninsured motorist coverage. I am glad we did and do!

Oh well, I am glad it is Monday. Have a good day.

>If she feigned destitution and could not pay for her ticket would the authorities have paid for her ticket or locked her up? This makes as little sense as our immigration laws. About 25% of our population is comprised of illegal aliens (mostly from south of the border) and when someone attempts to enter legally into the U.S. or depart legally they are often given so many hassles it is ridiculous. They cannot get free medical treatment if they sick while they are here nor can they attend school for free or attain a higher education for free (nor should they in my opinion). Yet, I personally know a few illegals from just below the souther border who have obtained free medical care as well as free schooling all the way through 4 years of college! I can't even get that for my daughter. I have a close friend from Bulgaria here in my area that is pulling her hair out trying to stay legal and attend school and she is paying for it with her own money! Hard to believe she is married to a

>>Good morning Gary;
>>
>>One of my wife’s sisters is a citizen of Peru, where she owns property. She has a daughter in Los Angeles and a son in Edmonton, Alberta. Every year or so she will travel to see each of her children and their families. This year things were a “little different”.
>>
>>My sister-in-law has never overstayed her allowed time in the United States or Canada, and she has been visiting for over 20 years. This time she was on her way to Los Angeles from Edmonton, when the Canadian authorities stopped her. No problem with her visa or passport – they required something new! She was told she had to have a ticket from Edmonton to Lima. She had a ticket from Edmonton to Los Angeles, and her round trip ticket was from Los Angeles to Lima. That did not meet the requirements as they told her “You are trying to immigrate illegally into Canada”! Gee, I thought she was leaving!
>>
>>To make a long story short my sister-in-law was put on a plane and flown to Lima and not allowed to enter the United States. Needless to say she had to pay for the ticket. She is still trying to get reimbursed for the last half of her round trip ticket from Los
>>Angeles to Lima. By the way the United States Embassy in Lima approved her request to return to Los Angeles, for the birth of her daughters first child.
>>
>>When you are off of your own turf things can be difficult. Even on your own terra firma you meet authorities that control your life.
>>
>>As is true anywhere in the world, any authority figure is like God. Or at least some think so! You meet all kinds of people wherever you go.

>>>Actually, I believe Canadians have a harder time getting (back) into Canada than non-Canadians ...
>>>
>>>It's an ego / power trip that Canadian (Nazi) border guards play out on the "locals" that they wouldn't dare try on "foreigners" ... (I've never had a problem "getting out"; getting (back) in was the problem). Simpletons hoping to make the big "bust" (or they just like going thru "wearunders").
>>>
>>>If you want to get into Canada, just claim "refugee status"; even if you're from the States ... It's worth 3 squares and a bottom-feeding immigration lawyer for at least 6 months (free!).
>>>
>>>>You do not need a passport if you are born in the US.
>>>>
>>>>Proof of ID, residence, citizenship should be more than adequate. Driver's License...Birth Certificate...Social Security Card....I've traveled the other way CAN==? US by plane with an expired passport and it was ok.
