Thank you all guys for responding. Though this doesn't solve my problem, it actually makes me less pis*ed off... almost to the point where it becomes "on" :).

I was thinking of building a net with a lot of old CDs sewn onto it, that I'd put in my rear window and raise it when needed, so it would glare back :). But then, that may really cause some genuine road rage.

My Corolla was made in Canada, and it does have the lever to move the mirror while keeping its frame in place. The same one even the cheapest FIATs have always had.
