Sorry for the delay. I've being out of the loop for a few days.

Terminal services has two modes:

- Remote Administration: Max 2 simultaneous connections, just for remotely administering the server. No additional license required.

- Application server: Yuo can connect has many users as you need, but you need a Terminal Services CAL (Client Access License) for each one of those. This is NOT the Windows Server CAL. You need to have BOTH the Server and the TS CALs.

When you purchase this CALs (around $70~90 apiece) you get a serial-number for each one that you have to enter in the TS License Manager.

Beyond that, the limit is the server capability. A dedicated TS Server usually supports up to 30~50 simultaneous client, depending on the apps they are running. For a typical VFP app you could put up about 40 users on a P4 with 1~2 Gb of RAM.

Of course, you have to make some tests and fine-tune your server needs. One of the best approaches is to monitor average usage on a PC using your app with Task Manager or the W2K Performance Monitor to see how much CPU and memory your app consumes. Then multiply this by the number of client, and add a safety margin (20~30% extra).

If you need to go beyond a single server, you'll get in some troubles, because Load Balancing TS is not so easy. In this case, you may check Citrix Metaframe, which is an even better technology based on the same principles an platform. It is pricier, but it can pay for itself in reduced bandwidth and maintenance costs.

Hope this helps,
