OK, I solved this by creating my property with an Access Method. In the Access Method, I am setting the property to This.Columns[This.ActiveColumn].ColumnOrder. I need to put code in there to handle if there is no ActiveColumn, but I pretty much have what I want now.

Is that what you were trying to tell me Fabio? I really wasn't clear on what you were saying.
