I want to take data from my FPDos 2.5 app and put it into SQL Server 2000. I have tried using DTS to transfer the data but some of my date fields are empty which gives DTS heartburn even if I tell DTS to make the new 'smalldatetime' column nullable. Is there a way to make DTS allow empty date columns?

I have seen some mention of an upsizing wizard. What is that? I also use FPW and VFP6. Is this wizard something that is available in either of these products?

I am going to develop a new version of this application but because of our company's "standards" I am not going to be able to use VFP. I will probably use VS .NET (either C# or VB). Is there any book or web site that would provide a good starting point for me? I have been reading about ADO and SQL Server but I haven't done any SQL Server until this project.
