Thanks for your input, folks. I was afraid you were going to say what you did; i.e., no magic bullets. We have been seriously considering the SQL Server back end solution, but recognizing that it's a major rework, have so far put it off.

Bill, we do use Stonefield, but hadn't considered its capabilities in this context. We will definitely take a closer look at that possibility.
