Actually Tracy M$ called me back just the other day. I was bumped up to a second tier engineer within mintues. They fixed the issue and I was very pleased. But the point is well taken with regard to support. However, the support I recieved from borland was bad. That said here is why: The support person I was dealing with had no background on using Linux. I believe he understood Delphi but not how Kylix and Linux worked together. All I wanted to know is how to print. Mind you printing (at the time) in the Linux environment was not straight forward. I had to cover three ways to print (lpr, cups and remote lpd). Borland gave up and said someone would contact me - never happen. Then the issue of the IDE. I quickly discovered that the IDE would just freeze for no apparent reason. Never fixed that issue. Then discovered the font issue. Had to reinstall the fonts several times because the system would just hang while loading fonts (Borland knew all about the issue). Of course I violated my own rule - don't ever buy version 1.0 of anything (btw version 1.0 did not support Postgres at the time). Then came the issues of deployment. Getting the right Libs etc just about drove me crazy. To fix the print issue turned out the only sun shine in the entire mess - I ended up using fastreports. It was able to handle all three printing issues and started out free. Then came the upgrade cost. Borland decided that it would not fix the 1.0 issues but instead force everyone to upgrade at additional cost. I was not happy even if I got the postgres drivers..... So they lost me. BTW it's still a good idea - they just failed.
