I don't know if you got it fixed. With MS help, we found that you can fix it this way:

1. Connect to an XP machine
2. In the Desktop properties, open the Visual effects dialog
3. Uncheck the option about Menus drop shadow
4. Log off

Now, VFP works on any W2K machine, with the same profile
