Expression builder is just a modal form. You can make it whatever you want - write a little prg which will launch your form, pass any parameters to it, and return the string from it. See help for _getexpr system variable.

You can even have a decent size font for it... as my monitors are getting bigger, I find the font in VFP's native expression builder (and Modify Structure, and PEM zoom window, and...) less and less readable.
