One of the problems I've discovered in using MAPI is with the latest versions of Outlook, the ability for an external program to send E-mail with attachments through MAPI has been disabled. Without an attachment it seems to work OK (though that darned verification dialog from Outlook Express still pops up). One other twist I ran into is that antivirus software could flag the attempt to send E-mail as possible virus activity.
