>>>Which is quickest to learn ?

>To a certain degree, I would agree with you that VFP is more difficult to learn if you do not have any background in an xBase language. In fact, I have met a lot of programmers trying to migrate into VFP from VB because of the richness and true OOP technology of the first, but to there dismay, they are finding difficulties.
>Besides VB is only an OBJECT BASED and not an OBJECT ORIENTED, same thing with PB of Sybase. Also, VFPs OOP is patterned from VC. And so, if an individual is trying to explore another programming tool aside from VFP, VC is the right one.

>I know how to use PB of Sybase and Developer/Designer 2000 from Oracle, but it is very disappointing to say that the latter lacks features when it comes to design and presentation. Multi-Window application is hard to develop in D2000 which in contrary, it is but chicken in VFP.
My experience in helping novice users and VFP newbies is that they tend to bite off too much at once. My recommendation to them is to learn things in this order:
DBFs (BROWSE, APPEND, etc. -- use command window)
Form designer, controls etc. -- don't worry about OOP
DBC
Data Sessions
OOP
Runtime distribution
It seems to help when concentrating and learning one aspect at a time.
