As far as Table2 goes, that is right. I have not had any trouble with Table2. The trouble is with Table1. When I tab off of the current (new) row in Table1, no identity column appears (in Table1). If I try to delete that row, SQL gives an error 'Cannot delete row with unknown Identity'.

If I remove the insert from the trigger, and do the same thing, when I tab off of the row in Table1, an identity appears correctly, and I am able to delete the row, etc.

I have now tried this process on 3 different Servers. I have done it at the server itself, and from clients. I have done it through Access and directly in SEM. One of the Servers was even SQL 7.0. I have checked the SQL updates, and MMC versions. I get the same behavior in all cases.

Michael, and Sergey,

I very much appriciate your help, comments and efforts in this matter. Perhaps there is just somthing I am missing. I hate to ask any more of your time. This may have to go into my 'unsolved mysteries' for a while.

Thank you again, and until next time...
Thank You

Rollin Burr

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
