Object browser can write the constants for you.
-Open a code window - say: Modi comm xlconstants.h
-Invoke Object Browser and load excel type lib.
-Expand 'Excel' node
-Drag&Drop "Constants' node on to code window you opened. Done:)

If drag&drop doesn't work than 99% you've a faulty version of Mscomctl32 (or was it comctl32?)
