I'm glad that Tamar jumped in with similar comments. I believe the intimidation factor is much too much for most developers -- far higher than the situation deserves.

FWIW, I am in a dialogue right now with a good developer who took the risk of sending me some ideas for an article, although he was skeptical that his English skills were strong enough. After several read-throughs without getting a good sense of continuity, it finally dawned on me that the content would lend itself best to a series of very short 1-page features.

We are now starting the back and forth process to turn that idea into something useful and usable, and I expect that it will result in a cool series to run sometime this fall.

I'm glad he took the risk, and I hope that others will do likewise.
