>>>Nick, I hope you're not pulling a "Michel" and basically saying that UT does not have to explain anything they do. Why can't threads be cut if it's very obvious that a portion is very relevant to one forum and the remainder is very relevant to another?
>>
>>I am not saying that it is not possible technically, however, as far as I know, the idea was not to overcomplicate things with the database, so there is no functionality built for that. The idea was that UT members should follow the rules and do not go too far offtopic. :)

>Ahhh... So the design flaw was assuming that UT members would follow the rules. <g> Ok, good answer. BTW, I think you should answer all the UT topic threads. It may not always be the answer that we want to hear, but at least it doesn't hurt our ears. <s>

I would not say it was design flaw, rather the design decision, which made sense in at least 90% of cases, until proven otherwise. :) We did not want to make it like MS Word where 90% of features used only by 10% of users :)

Implementing thread splitting also assumes that somebody has to watch them all, rename and maintain accordingly.
