The engine not being OOP, is this not a characteristic of Information Systems? Do you expect (know of) systems where massive data storage will be done in an OO manner. What I'm saying is that sure, it would be nice to have methods saved with our records, but only for metatables, those tables that give the intelligence to your system. For massive storage where orthogonaility is a major feature, I expect that relational calculus is here to stay and so there will always be a part in IS that escapes OO. BTW, for what I undersand, the presentation layer (read form layouts) of these systems also escapes OO, so IS will always have to deal with (at least 2) non OO resources.

I am waiting for answers from the academy :).
