In addition to what the others have suggested, you can also look at Express Click-yes (http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html) to get around the Draconian Security Patch from h*ll. It is free and comes with VFP examples.

Another option is to use CDO for Windows 2000 to send e-mail using SMTP. There is plenty of documentation on CDP in MSDN under the Messaging and Collaboration section.
