Hi Tracy,

I guess you remember the 'iron lady' of Norway, Gro Harlem Brundtland? Before she had private classes in speaking techniques, she used to have sentences which could last for several minutes. She was the worst speaker I have ever listened to, you had to really concentrate to understand what she said.

>I wonder if he/she is now in the habit of just eliminating commas altogether because he/she knows someone who knows where they belong will put them in for him/her?! :o) I've heard people say that they write without commas because it is too tricky to know where to place them. My College English Professor had a 'cheat sheet' she gave her students that had examples of when to use commas. I believe there were 11 sentence structures (or something close to that) that required commas. There have been many times since then that I wish I still had that sheet! :o)
