Thank you for the reply. I am just trying to gather some summary information for text boxes on a start up page. From there the users can drill down into the detail. These queries will be very dynamic based on the user selected range of dates.

Using the totals in another column allows me to calculate a range of months and then use those totals for other calculations. I can add up the quarter totals for annual amounts and then subtract the annual totals from a base amount to get net results. This is much cleaner than continually dealing with the individual months.

The answer Mike gave me works perfectly for what I am trying to accomplish.
