Hi Thomas,
The world has become a very small place. There are more dependency between countries today than in any previous time in man's history. Today's weapons are too powerful for traditional localized wars between armies, so all mankind is threatened, regardless of whether one is a non-combatant citizen of their country, or a member of their country's armed services combating in warfare. Instability in one region of the world threatens us all.
Mass communications, the Internet, and Rapid Transportation have blurred traditional country boundaries. Moves toward a standard medium of exchange encourage allegiance to the world economy rather than the traditional allegiance to protect country borders and sovereignty.
There is a greater sharing of labor between countries today than ever before, as jobs are shared and exchanged between countries through outsourcing, and the standard of living between countries is becoming more levels on a global scale.
The world is much smaller today than it once was. Everyone, everywhere around the globe are closely coupled, integrated, dependent on each other. Friendly relation between all countries should be fostered through mutually beneficial exchanges of labor, resources, technology, ideas, and diplomacy. The world is a small place and become smaller each day. We need to find ways to live together for the mutual benefit of all mankind.
Regards,
Leland
