I didn't even _think_ about checking HackFox for that! Good catch!

No, there was no such thing as ToolTips in DOS, so you're out of luck if you stick with the DOS controls. I think Fred's suggestion of turning on the status bar is your best bet. Which ever control currently has focus will determine which message is displayed in the status bar.

The problem with converted forms is that they are very hard to work with, they are no longer in the DOS world, but they don't really work like Windows forms either. I've just stayed away from them!
