Reminds me of a printer calculating a square root, or doing even more advanced calculations. It seems they really do it; for a page description language like PostScript, much responsibility is delegated to the printer.

>On the way to work I heard something on the news that cracked me up. It seems that Adidas has introduced a new Running Shoe, for $250, making it "the most expensive shoe of its type". However, there is no other shoe like it. You see this shoe has a microprocessor, which senses compression and acts upon internal cables. It can make 5000 “adjustments” per second.

>I figure that at 5000 adjustments a second, the runner would really be burning the track! :)

>It seems hard to believe that a shoe would have a microprocessor in it. Perhaps the shoe can automatically send a signal when it wears to a specific point, charge your credit card, and send you a new pair?

>Wait until they put microprocessors in your water glass! I guess I am too old fashioned! :)
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
