I decided to put this to the test.

I ran Asus PC Probe which monitors some of the hardware like the CPU temperature.

With the system sitting idle doing nothing, the CPU temp was 87 degrees F. I then put FoxPro into a continuous loop and verified the CPU usage in the taskmgr and found it at 99%. The temperature started to rise almost immediately and after about 20 minutes the CPU temp heated up 27 degrees to 114 degrees. This is where it leveled off as the temperature started fluctuating between 113 and 114 for about 5 minutes. Shutting down FoxPro brought the temp back down to 89 degrees in about 10 minutes.

>I wanted to run this by the experts. I have overnight reports that run @ 9pm.
>I have vfp run in a loop continuously until 9pm, then reports run, then loop continues till next nite and so forth all week. Of course this puts the processor at 100% usage. Does this cause the processor to heat up and put more wear on it/shorten it's life?
