How to put icon in panel of statusbar . I run below code but it does not work

Dim statusBar1 As New StatusBar
Dim panel1 As New StatusBarPanel

panel1.BorderStyle = StatusBarPanelBorderStyle.Sunken
panel1.Icon="user.ico"

I am sure that I missed something there, but I'm very new with this .. I need advice .. thank
