I am a long time replying because I haven't been able to look at UT for awhile. By now you may have forgotten what this thread was all about but I wanted to comment anyway.
Its true that Doctors maybe be working with a human form that is not evolving very quickly but it does seem that treatments are changing quite a bit so I guess they need to do a lot of reading to keep up.
But suppose you were a History Teacher explaining Napoleon's Campaign through Russia in the 1700's. And you taught this to students year after year for 30 years. I have often wondered if we looked inside the brains of these people if we would find anything.
There are exceptions to the "learning how to learn" principle but the only place we might find them is unfortunately where the early learning is supposed to tale place.
