Has anyone, any experience with a scrolling message on the bottom left task bar, that reads "Record Unavailable". I have a client who experiences this message, and subsequent momentary freezing of the application. Strange that other users in the group receive the programmed "Record in Use - Please try again!", but 1 user will get the Scrolling "Record Unavailable" message, plus the workstation freezes. I have a single record file that contains the system generated transaction numbers, which is duly
. checked for lock status
. lock the record
. get the next available number
. update the record
. release the lock
through stored procedures section of the database. There is a problem because of the time it is taking to accomplish the set tasks, but the message "Record Unavailable" has me wondering where, it is, coming from!
