You don't say what version of windows. For the printing delay, you can try:

Changing the following registry key to 1 (from the original value of 15) should resolve this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WOW\LPT_Timeout

If you are still having problems with the paper ejecting when you start your print job, please post your code - it may help if others can see your exact code to assist you better.
