I figured it out. I was setting the recordsource property for the grid programmatically after the form was created. By setting it in design mode and creating a table for the grid to point to in the form's load method, the drag and drop worked like I expected it to.

I'm trying to implement drag and drop functionality. The grid's recordsource property is reset before the field is clicked. Why wont the code execute?
